Over his 10 years leading Ubuntu Equity, Tendai has worked with over 1 200 startups, creating job opportunities for thousands of Africans. An alumnus of global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, Tendai also serves on a number of boards for startup as well as investing companies, both locally in SA and internationally – predominantly in the USA. One of Tendai’s notable achievements is being tasked by telecoms mogul Strive Masiyiwa to lead the Econet Group’s investments in edtech startups and growing these to over 2 million users in Africa. Tendai’s work has been recognised by UNICEF, The World Bank, Tutu Foundation & JCI amongst others. Tendai is a sought after speaker and thought leader on entrepreneurship, he has spoken at MIT Sloan, Harvard and the United Nations amongst others.
