Safe place to learn

Disaster, crisis and safety concerns cause children to lose out on years of schooling.

Communities are affected in the short-term, while economic growth and the ease of doing business are affected in the long-term.

100 million children missing school

One in three youth in crisis zones is out of school. Education is crucial for providing a sense of normalcy during conflict and developing the skills necessary to rebuild a country.

Natural disasters displace more than conflict

Floods, earthquakes and other natural disasters disrupt education for 40 million children each year. Education is often the first service lost and and last to be restored.

Employee match giving to disaster relief tripled

CECP reports that employees participating in corporate match donation have increased their giving to disaster by nearly three times.

School safety and disruptions to education hold back young people and economies.

Companies realize the importance of secure, stable communities. Safe schools and learning environments – even during crisis – are essential for stability and skill development. Education is the foundation for restoring business activities, dependable supply chains, positive community relations, and strong employee morale.
