Today, on October 16, Blog Action Day offers people everywhere a safe place to speak up, because as the organizers say, “2015 has seen unprecedented attacks on those who publish their ideas online,” in large part due to “increased censorship, threats, and violence” surrounding media.

With the launch of YourStoryIndia, the Global Business Coalition for Education’s Global Education Platform in partnership with Wattpad, HP, Twitter, STiR Education and Teach for India has opened up a safe space for children in India, home to the world’s largest youth population, to #RaiseYourVoice. From now through the end of March, tens of millions of youth 13+ are encouraged to share their stories on the Wattpad platform where they will be accessible to the more than 65 million Wattpad users globally and over 1.2 million Wattpad users in India.

As 59 million children across the world are barred from school, it is more important than ever to remind them that their voices are heard and their calls for a brighter future are not muffled by the drum of conflict and the turbulence of the refugee crisis. To India’s 356 million youth: Now is the time to #RaiseYourVoice.
