The LEAH Project & Health Resources in Action

About

Health Resources in Action develops and evaluates solutions to improve the health of different populations in the Boston area. Through their Leaders through Education, Action and Hope (LEAH) Project, they are helping young people, especially Black, Indigenous, and people of color, to diversify the science, technology, engineering, and math fields through paid STEM internships, college and career readiness programming, and youth leadership opportunities.

Through paid STEM internships, dynamic college and career readiness programming, and meaningful youth leadership opportunities, LEAH cultivates the confidence of youth and equips them with the skills and connections needed to thrive. Serving Boston area youth from marginalized groups, LEAH addresses inequities in academics, college preparation, and careers through three paid STEM internship tracks, mentorships, social-emotional learning support, and college readiness and persistence programming.

Founded in 1957, Health Resources in Action (HRiA) is a Boston-based national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating solutions for clients who share a vision of improving population health. HRiA’s mission is to help people live healthier lives and create healthy communities through prevention, health promotion, policy, and research. We envision a world where social conditions and equitable resources foster healthy people in healthy communities. As a public health institute, a belief and commitment to equity is central to our work. We believe that good health is a right, not a privilege.
