Cincinnati Youth Collaborative
About
More than thirty years ago, as Cincinnati was facing exceedingly high dropout rates, concerned community and school leaders pioneered the idea of collaboration between the business community and public schools. They created a game-changing model for intervention and founded Cincinnati Youth Collaborative.
Envisioning the full potential of all youth, the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative empowers young people to overcome critical barriers to academic, career, and life success through time-tested and innovative mentoring, college preparation, and workforce readiness programs.
The group aims to make Cincinnati known as “America’s #1 Mentoring City,” creating a diverse workforce pipeline and connecting disadvantaged people across generations.
CYC is uniquely:
- The first local organization to actively engage the business community in the advocacy and support of youth
- One of the longest-standing strategic relationships with Cincinnati Public Schools district wide, with access to school academic data
A strong collaborator with United Way of Greater Cincinnati, City of Cincinnati, Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board and the Strive Partnership - United with Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates, CYC offers capacity for growth and improvement in programs, organizational structure and fiscal efficiency – resulting in better outcomes for kids
