World Tech Named As Winner of Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 4
Just today, World Tech Makers – a Colombia-based start up that focuses on skills’ training – was announced the winner of the Lead2030 Challenge for Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4). The Lead2030 initiative was launched by One Young World and encompasses all 17 Sustainable Development Goals, bringing together businesses with youth to find solutions to global issues.
The Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 4 was organized by Deloitte in collaboration with the Global Business Coalition for Education to identify youth-led initiatives that align with Deloitte’s mission to “prepare 50 million people to succeed in a rapidly changing global economy by 2030.” Prior to collaborating on Lead2030, GBC-Education and Deloitte co-produced a major youth skills report on tackling the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Since 2014, World Tech Makers – founded by youth entrepreneur, Ilana Milkes – has trained over 1,500 young people throughout Latin America to equip them with the skills of the future. By investing in entrepreneurship, soft skills, and technical skills for the workforce of tomorrow, World Tech recognizes the potential of youth to contribute to the future of their communities. As Lead2030 Challenge winners, they will receive both financial and in-kind support from Deloitte and GBC-Education to further their work in youth skills’ development.
